The basics organic vegetable garden.

If you want to do this in the old-fashioned way that has proven to be very effective, you need to know the basics of organic vegetable gardening. It is an agricultural system that does not use artificial products containing fertilizers and pesticides. In short, you work with nature to get what you want.

When choosing the right vegetable for planting, it is important to know which of them is suitable for soil and climate. If you live in a drought-prone area, buy those that don’t use as much water. Before you put the seeds into the soil, make sure the farm is ready for the land, so the rocks and weeds are clear.

The next step is to add nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to the soil by adding compost, bone meal or rock phosphate and greensand. If the pH level of the soil is too high, add lime or sulfur to adjust it. One thing you should do before planting is to apply organic fertilizer. You can use recycled leaves, grass clippings, coffee grounds, eggshells, and kitchen waste, and apply them a month before planting.

The roots should not fight for water at a certain distance for each seed. Between each vegetable, you can also plant other materials because the space is tight, and the weeds are less likely to grow.  Pests ar the most important threat to your organic garden. To fight them, you’ll be able to use birds, frogs, or alternative insects. You do not have these creatures to defend other insects.

You need to create an ideal environment by setting up a birdhouse or a small pond. Once they are in place, they will do the rest by patrolling your garden and feeding those who want to eat your crops. Raw covers are known to prevent larvae and to lay eggs. You can use sticky traps and foil collars to prevent pests and bores.

There are also organic pesticides around, but some of them kill only one or two species. So before you buy them, make sure you know what you’re dealing with. Crop rotation is the best way to preserve soil fertility. This is done after you harvest the vegetables, so it is ready for planting again. For this to work, you must plant another vegetable in the same area.

Anyone can learn the basics of organic vegetable gardening and soon run their own small farm in their backyard. It’s new, you can pick it up anytime, it’s very convenient as it’s only a few feet from your home. Perhaps it is because of food shortages, and most of the imported vegetables do not use this method.

The government has given incentives to farmers to switch to this method, but more efforts will be made to persuade countries that trade with the US to do the same.
