How to set a wild flower garden.

Aster

A wild flower garden has the most beautiful sound. One thinks of long walks in the woods, gathering materials, and then the fun of fixing a real forest.

Many say they are not so fortunate in such a garden. This is not a question of luck, but a matter of understanding, because wildflowers are like people, and each has its personality. Always want to have a plant in nature. When removed from its living conditions, it becomes infected and dies. It is only when we are told to copy nature itself. Suppose you are hunting for wildflowers. When you select some flowers from the forest, please pay attention to the soil, location, condition, surroundings, and neighbors they contain.

Suppose you think that dog-tooth violets and wind-flowers grow together. Could you place them in your new garden? Suppose you have found a violet enjoying an open violet; It must always be the same. You see the point, don’t you? If you want wildflowers to grow in the tiled garden, they will feel at home. Believe they are still in their homeland and deceive them.

Wildflowers should be planted after flowering time. Take a troll and a kid to the forest with you. When you take a few, a columbine, or a hepatica, do not forget to take some of the plant’s soil along with the roots and pack it up when planting it again.

Before making your journey, you should carefully prepare the bed where these plants go. You don’t want to bring those plants back for a day or night before planting. They should go to new quarters at the same time. The bed needs soil from the woods, is deep and rich, and the leaves are full of mold. The under drainage system should be fine. Then the plants should not go into the wet ground. Some people think that all woody plants should have water-saturated soil. But the woods are not watertight. You may need to dig your garden too deep and put some stones in the bottom. The soil above this should go. Once the topsoil is in place, set a new layer of fertile soil you brought from the forest.

Before planting the soil well. The soil of the plant should be placed where the plants are placed in each hole.

Spring Beauty

Saxifrage

I think it would be a perfect project to have a wild flower garden that continues to bloom from early spring to late fall; So let’s start with March, Hepatica, Spring Beauty and Saxifrage. Then comes April with beautiful Columbine, tiny bluets and wild geranium. In May, there are Dog’s Tooth Violet, Wood anemone, False Solomon’s Seal, Jack in Pulpit, WakeRobin, Bloodroot, and Violet. Bellflower,Mullein , Bee bam, and foxglove will be served in June. I will be picking up the Gay Butterfly weed in July. Let the Turtle’s head, Aster, joe pie weed, and Anne’s queen lace brighten up the snow for the rest of the season.

Wild Geranium

We know a little about the likes and dislikes of these plants. Once you get started, you will continue to add to this wildflower list.

No one does not love Hepatica. Before deciding that spring is coming, this little flower will hold its head up and shame everyone else. Putting it under an envelope of dry leaves and waiting for a ray of warm sunlight to bring out the flowers. A vague mantle further protects these embryonic flowers. It reminds me of a protective envelope, similar to fresh fern leaves. In the spring, a hepatic plant does not waste time getting a new suit of leaves. It makes it old until flowering. The new leaves, which have begun to stabilize before this, get a chance. Delayed, these are ready to help next season. You will see Hepatica growing in groups of family groups. They can be found in open areas in the forest. The soil looks plentiful and loose. Therefore, they should only be left in shaded areas and in good soil conditions. If planted with other woods specimens, they give the advantage of the exposed position, which will catch the sunlight in early spring. In the fall, I cover the Hepatica with a small litter of leaves. In the last days of February, cover this leaf if the weather is not overcast. You will find that all hepatica flowers are ready to bow down.

Spring beauty doesn’t let Hepatica take her to the front. There is no mistaking this spring flower with its white, pinkish-pink, thin, bell-shaped, narrow, grass-like leaves. You will see spring beauties growing in the best patches in the open air. Plant a lot of roots, and the sun has a good chance of reaching them. This plant loves the sun.

The other march flower mentioned is Saxifrage. It’s in a completely different environment. It is a plant that grows in dry, rocky places. Most often, someone will find it on the rocks. There is an old story that the Saxifrage roots will split the rock itself by twisting and entering the stones. Anyway, this is a rock garden plant. I found it on dry, sandy places on the edge of a huge rock. The hairy stem has a white inflorescence.

Columbine is another plant for wild flower garden, that can be found in rocks. When standing beneath a ledge and looking upward, a plant or more collapses into the columbine rocks. Thin redheads are wires and thin stems. The roots do not fall deep into the soil;, often, the soil does not cover them. Now, because Columbine has little soil, that does not mean it is indifferent to the soil condition. In right drainage conditions, this should always be present and always live. I wonder if this has affected you, how much are really hygienic plants? Plenty of fresh air, proper drainage, and good food are the basics of plants.

It is clear from the study of these plants how easy it is to find what the plants like. After learning about their feelings, don’t make the mistake of putting everyone together in bad drainage situations.

Bee balm

I always have a personal affinity for blues. I always feel like when they come, things are starting to settle down now. They start with vibrant, beautiful, and tiny delicate blue flowers. As June gets warmer and warmer, their color fades slightly, and at times they appear to be worn and white. Some call them Quaker ladies; others call it innocence. They are attractive by any name. They grow in the colonies, sometimes in sunny fields, sometimes on the roadside. From this, we can see that they are more about open sunlight than soil.

If you want a flower to pick and use as bouquets, wild geranium is not your flower. After selecting, it drops very quickly and immediately drops its petals. But the purple flowers are attractive and cut deep when the leaves are rough. This latter result gives the plant an attractive boldness. The plant is found in damp and partially shaded areas of forests. I love this plant in the garden. As long as the flowering period lasts, it adds a beautiful color and a permanent color, because there is no point in taking it.

There are numbers and numbers of wildflowers for your wild flower garden, that I would suggest. The ones I mentioned are not for the purpose of a flower guide, but for just one end of your understanding of how to study soil conditions for the task of starting a wildflower garden.

If you are afraid of the results, pick one or two flowers, and study your selection. Masters or better, meet a few people and add another year to your garden. I think you will like it best before your wild animal survives. This is a real study, you see.
